Many people understand that they need to take their pets to the veterinarian for routine vaccines or medications to protect against various diseases: parvovirus, distemper, rabies and heartworm infection, for example. But obesity and poor oral health are less commonly thought by the pet-owning public of as medical problems that need regular veterinary care.
