These days, it can be tough to make a timely appointment with a veterinarian. In fact, long waits have now become commonplace at many veterinary clinics.
This logjam can be attributed to several factors. Nearly 11 million US households adopted new pets as of September 2020, and these folks are anxious to schedule checkups and vaccinations. And although most clinics have relaxed their curbside COVID-19 protocols, they’re still not back to their efficient routines.
As for existing pet parents, many postponed routine visits when COVID-19 was first raging, and now they want to make up for lost time. People have also been spending more hours at home, giving them more time to spot potential problems in their pets.
Veterinarians are doing their very best to help our pets. Let’s show them the love they need, too.
