Veterinary technicians, also known as veterinary nurses, are a key part of your pet’s health care team. When you take your pet to the veterinarian, you probably will have face-to-face contact with at least one technician, but there are many more professional nurses at work behind the scenes. Danielle Jonas, a certified veterinary technician and veterinary technician manager at the UF Small Animal Hospital, sheds light on some of the advanced tasks that today’s veterinary nurses perform as well as other ways they help keep your pet healthy and happy when it’s visiting the animal hospital.
