For those of you pooch parents who really want to get inside the mind of your dog, Harvard University may be a place to start.
Harvard’s Canine Brains Project — composed of a team of dog-loving neuroscientists, veterinary practitioners and handlers — works to determine what makes dogs behave the way they do. By using behavioral trials, neuroimaging, genetic testing and other noninvasive techniques, they’re learning how dogs receive commands, react to new situations, make connections and differ from their canine brethren.
The team is always looking for pet parents who share the same passion about learning what makes their dogs tick — and can accompany their canine companions to Boston. If your dog qualifies, the team may even be able to cover travel costs.
