Millennials and their fur babies

Move over Baby Boomers. Millennials — people born between 1980 and 2000 — now have more pets than any other generation.

In fact, about 35% of pet owners are millennials, and a recent survey showed that at least 7 of 10 millennials have dogs or cats.

Over three-quarters of millennials surveyed believe that having a pet prepares them to become better parents down the road. And millennials are serious about the care of their fur babies. Even though many still carry student debt and are just starting their careers, most millennials will do whatever it takes to give their pets what they need. That could be why more millennials than those in earlier generations have pet insurance.

Millennials sometimes get a bad rap, but they deserve a lot of credit for how they care for their pets.
