Kids with a mission: helping shelter animals

For you kids who want to help shelter animals, there are so many things you can do!

First, teach those around you how important it is to spay and neuter dogs and cats. Each day, about 70 thousand puppies and kittens are born in the United States, and many can’t find homes.

There are lots of ways to raise money for your local shelter. You might ask for donations instead of presents on your birthday. Or, you could ask to have a bake sale at your school or in front of a local business. If you do, put a collection can on your table for extra donations.

You can also ask your school for permission to have a donation drive. That’s a way to collect leashes, blankets and even cans and bags of pet food.

These are just a few of the ways you can help shelter animals. Talk to your parents, friends and the shelter for more possibilities.
