“I Think We’ve Got a Leak: Urinary Incontinence in Pets”

Urinary incontinence happens when a housetrained animal loses control of its bladder, and can occur for several reasons. Just as in humans, this disorder can develop as a result of a single or multiple health issues, ranging from urinary tract infection or stones to spinal injury or degeneration. On this show, Dr. Chris Adin, a small animal surgery specialist and chair of UF’s Small Animal Clinical Sciences, will discuss the causes and various treatments available to pets with urinary incontinence, and what pet owners need to know if confronted with this issue.
