How to Avoid Dietary Indiscretion in Pets Over the Holidays

(original air-date: Nov. 19, 2011)

The holidays mean many things to many people, but almost always involve food not typically served in the household. While the temptation to allow our pets to indulge with us may be strong, it’s not generally a good idea, at least when it comes to certain types of food. Changes in diets, for pets as well as people, can lead to gastrointestinal upset. On this show, Dr. Richard Hill, a board-certified veterinary nutritionist, will discuss common food-related medical problems pets can develop over the holidays, how to avoid these problems as well as why good feeding habits year-round are important for maintaining your pet’s health.
