End-of-life Care in Pets

Animals experiencing a medical emergency or chronic illness are capable of receiving care they never could have, even a few years ago, due to advances in diagnostic and treatment capabilities in veterinary medicine. But there comes a time when veterinarians must communicate the news no pet owner wants to hear: That nothing more can medically be done for their pet, and that the kindest choices for the animal involve end-of-life care. On this show, Dr. Jake Wolff, an emergency and critical care specialist, will how veterinarians face these difficult moments and work with pet owners to help facilitate the right path forward to ease both pet and owner’s emotional suffering.
