Documenting the health of our nation’s pets

You may have heard of One Health — that’s the interconnection among animals, people and the environment. To dig deeper into this relationship, the One Health Commission has teamed up with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to launch the National Pet Health Survey.

The goal of this survey is to identify geographic patterns of health and disease in dogs and cats across the country. Once established patterns are identified, emerging disease threats are easier to spot.

Pet parents can participate in the survey until January 2020, after which data will be analyzed. Just visit the website for the National Pet Health Survey and get started.

There’s a minimal time investment. In return, you’ll know you’ve contributed to one of the most extensive health and disease databases ever compiled for dogs and cats in the United States.
