Veterinary technicians, also known as veterinary nurses, are a crucial part of the care team any time you take your pet to the veterinarian. The roles they play are multifaceted, as “vet techs” work across specialties to assist veterinarians in conducting a variety of medical procedures, providing valuable hands-on help and expertise. Opportunities for growth in the field have also increased in recent years. On this show, airing during National Veterinary Technician Month, Danielle Jonas, CVT, a veterinary care manager for UF’s Small Animal Hospital, will discuss what’s involved in pursuing a career as a veterinary technician.
