Biomarkers of Kidney Disease in Pets

Biomarkers of Kidney Disease in Pets

Kidney disease commonly affects dogs and cats and is often associated with poor prognosis in the later stages. Despite the clinical importance of kidney disease, early detection can be challenging; the number of widely available tests to detect kidney disease is limited, along with the ability to use these tests to detect early kidney dysfunction. On this show, Dr. Autumn Harris, a small animal medicine specialist, will discuss what pet owners should know about kidney disease and its potential impacts. She’ll also talk about some of the significant progress that has been made to help predict kidney disease in pets, which may also help with better monitoring and assessment of prognosis in pets with the disease.
